I.O.I member Kyulkyung has drawn significant public attention after sharing a series of striking photos that mark a dramatic shift from her earlier “innocent” image.
On May 25, Kyulkyung updated her social media account with several photos taken in a dimly lit indoor setting, posting them without any caption. The images quickly circulated online and sparked wide discussion among fans and netizens.
In the released photos, Kyulkyung showcases a bold and experimental style that she has not previously revealed. She wears a glamorous black sequin halter-neck dress adorned with jewel embroidery and dramatic cut-out details along the neckline, chest, and abdomen, emphasizing her defined silhouette.
Her sharp collarbones and visible navel piercing further highlight a more mature and provocative aesthetic. With long straight hair worn down and a direct gaze into the camera, she completes the look with smoky eye makeup and an intense, enigmatic expression, creating a strong contrast to her earlier idol-era “pure and youthful” image.
The new photos have fueled online reactions, with many commenting that her visual transformation feels strikingly different from her early career days.
Kyulkyung’s recent post has also gained additional attention amid ongoing discussions surrounding I.O.I’s highly anticipated reunion activities. On May 19 at 6 PM KST, the group released their mini album 'I.O.I : LOOP,' marking a return to the music scene after a long hiatus since their official disbandment activities in 2017. The reunion, commemorating the group’s 10th anniversary, has been warmly received by global fans.
However, Kyulkyung, along with Kang Mi Na, was unable to participate in the comeback due to pre-scheduled overseas commitments and other unavoidable circumstances. As a result, I.O.I has been promoting the album as a nine-member unit.
