Late Kim Soo Mi’s Husband Passes Away 1 Year and 7 Months After Her Death

The husband of the late Kim Soo Mi, actor Jeong Chang Gyu, and the father-in-law of actress Seo Hyo Rim, passed away on the afternoon of March 4 at 1:11 PM. He was 80 years old.

This comes 1 year and 7 months after he lost his wife, Kim Soo Mi, in October 2024. Jeong Chang Gyu had been battling complications from diabetes and was hospitalized the previous day (March 3), but ultimately did not recover.

Jeong Chang Gyu and Kim Soo Mi were married in 1974 and had one son and one daughter. Their son, Jeong Myeong Ho, CEO of Napal Flower Media, married actress Seo Hyo Rim in 2019.

Seo Hyo Rim previously worked with Kim Soo Mi as a mother-daughter duo in the 2017 MBC drama 'Man in the Kitchen,' a connection that later extended into an actual family relationship.

The funeral is being held at Hanyang University Hospital Funeral Hall, Room 9. The funeral procession will take place at 9:40 AM, and the burial will be at Suwon City Yeonhwa Crematorium.
