LE SSERAFIM fans are voicing concern after member Kim Chaewon appeared to be in visible discomfort during the group’s recent performance at Soongsil University’s festival.
Videos circulating on social media showed Kim Chaewon seemingly struggling to properly move her neck while performing on stage. Some fans claimed she appeared to be in pain throughout parts of the performance, sparking renewed criticism over the group’s choreography.

Many pointed to LE SSERAFIM’s recently released choreography featuring intense headbanging movements for their track "CELEBRATION," which had already become a topic of concern among fans online. Kim Chaewon herself had previously mentioned experiencing neck pain, further fueling worries about the physically demanding routine.

Although the group reportedly modified the choreography for the university performance by removing the headbanging section, fans continued expressing frustration, arguing that the change came only after Kim Chaewon was already hurt.
Online reactions included criticism toward the agency for allegedly not addressing the issue sooner, with many fans calling for the members’ health and safety to be prioritized over performance intensity.
They commented:
“I was shocked the first time I saw the choreography. Watching it genuinely made me feel like my neck and back were about to give out, too.”
“I knew it would cause problems eventually… Sigh, they should’ve changed it sooner.”
“Once you get a cervical disc injury, it stays with you for a long time… It hurts like hell.”
“Honestly, it feels like choreography made without any thought. Did they not consider the people performing it?”
“It’s sad seeing her keep smiling even while she’s obviously in pain.”
“I’m not even a fan, but the moment I saw that choreography, I got seriously worried. That’s REALLY bad for the neck!!!! What are the choreographers even doing? Symptoms can appear immediately, seriously.”
“Wow… It’s my first time seeing that stage, but even at a glance, it looks way too harsh on the neck.”
“If she ends up with a ruptured disc, can they even take responsibility for it??? When your neck hurts, your eyes hurt too, your head feels like it’s exploding, and you can barely function. Are they insane?”
“That neck-spinning choreography already looked dangerous…”
“I mean, maybe they only use that version for music shows and the MV for a week or two, then switch it up for festivals and concerts.”
“The choreographer who made this honestly seems psychopathic. They should think about the singers while making choreography instead of bringing something disposable like this.”
“I had a feeling something like this would happen…”
“If you injure your neck badly, it lasts a long time. She probably needs rest early on… Spine-related pain needs to be treated quickly.”
“HYBE especially seems to make a lot of choreography that destroys people’s joints.”
“That choreography is seriously awful.”
“Hair is heavy enough already, but they tied it up and made them whip it aroundㅠㅠ The worst pain I ever had besides my back was neck pain… It must be so hard having to continue performing.”
“They should’ve changed it when people first told them to. How many times is this company going to lose after fighting fans over stuff like this?”
“HYBE choreography sucks. The members are the only ones suffering.”
