Former MBLAQ member and actor Lee Joon admitted that he previously misrepresented the home he secured for his parents, clarifying that it was not a purchased property but a Korean jeonse, a deposit-based rental system.

The confession was made on the 345th episode of the tvN variety program 'You Quiz on the Block,' which aired on May 27. Lee Joon appeared as a guest following attention from his recent “Catch Catch” fancam performance.

On the show, Lee Joon spoke about his difficult upbringing, sharing that after his father’s business failed, his family lived in a cockroach-infested home. He said this experience motivated him to aim for a better life, especially the goal of providing his parents with a clean and comfortable house.

He explained that at the age of 24, he managed to secure a nice apartment for his parents, but he initially told the public that he had purchased it. “It was actually a jeonse,” he admitted. “At that time, I was going through a really hard period, and many people around me probably felt pity for me or even looked down on me. I wanted to show that I had succeeded, so I said I bought it.”

Host Yoo Jae Suk responded by comforting him, pointing out that even arranging a jeonse home for his parents in his early twenties was a significant achievement, and that his parents must have been very proud.

Lee Joon also reflected on the moment with happiness, saying it felt like the life he had always dreamed of, with a living room, three bedrooms, and wooden flooring. He added that he was so excited at the time that he suggested showing it on broadcast, and footage of his home and childhood room was later aired.
