
Singer and actress Lee Jung Hyun has officially advanced to the competition section of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival as a film director.
On the 20th, Lee shared the poster for her film ‘Coming-of-Age Ceremony’ on her personal social media account, along with the exciting announcement:
“My second graduate school thesis film, Coming-of-Age Ceremony, for which I participated in the screenplay, directing, and acting, has been selected for the competition section of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.”

The newly revealed poster features upside-down images of Lee Jung Hyun and actress Lee Do Eun facing opposite directions with the title Coming-of-Age Ceremony placed between them. Their intense gazes toward the camera convey a range of emotions, heightening anticipation for the film. The tagline on the lower right corner of the poster reads, “I’ve been waiting for that day to come,” sparking curiosity about its meaning.
Lee also added, “Please pay attention to actress Lee Do Eun, who plays the lead role in Coming-of-Age Ceremony. I would appreciate your support,” highlighting her co-star’s performance.
In response to the news, fellow actress Uhm Ji Won expressed her support by commenting, “You are such an amazing woman.”
Fans who saw the poster also shared enthusiastic reactions, including comments such as, “I can’t wait for the release date,” “Congratulations, director,” and “Actress Lee Do Eun, fighting!”
Born in 1980, Lee Jung Hyun debuted in 1996 through the film ‘A Petal’. Her breakthrough performance earned widespread attention and multiple Best New Actress awards at major film ceremonies.
She later transformed into a solo singer and rose to the top of the K-pop scene with hit songs including Wa, Change, Give Me, Crazy, Ban, and Ari Ari.
Demonstrating talent in both music and acting, Lee has appeared in numerous acclaimed projects including The Admiral: Roaring Currents, Alice in Earnestland, The Battleship Island, Peninsula, and Decision to Leave, as well as television dramas such as King Sejong the Great, The Family Is Coming, and the Parasyte: The Grey series.
Lee Jung Hyun previously made her directorial debut in 2025 with the film Going to the Flower Festival, where she also participated as a screenwriter and producer, drawing significant attention to her expanding career behind the camera.
