Source Music filed the 500 million KRW (about 331,384 USD) damages lawsuit against Min Hee Jin in July 2024 at the Seoul Western District Court. The company claimed that statements made by Min Hee Jin regarding Source Music during her conflict with HYBE Corporation were false.
At the time, Min Hee Jin held a press conference and alleged that HYBE had broken a promise to debut NewJeans as its first girl group. She also claimed that Source Music had neglected NewJeans members and that HYBE had not been active in promoting NewJeans.
Source Music responded by stating that it strongly regrets the situation in which false claims and disrespectful expressions were made in public, including the mention of other artists’ names without respect. The company also said that allegations suggesting that LE SSERAFIM caused harm to other artists were false and that presenting such claims as fact constitutes the spread of misinformation.
The label added that continuing to spread false information in public forums is deeply regrettable and should not be repeated.
