Park Ji Hyun reveals Fin.K.L’s Lee Hyori as role model for ‘Wild Sing’ idol character on ‘You Quiz on the Block’

Actress Park Ji Hyun appeared on tvN’s variety program You Quiz on the Block,' broadcast on May 27, where she shared behind-the-scenes stories from her latest film 'Wild Sing' and reflected on how she prepared for her idol group-centered role.

In the episode, Park discussed the process of building her character, who serves as the center of an idol group in the film. She explained that she drew inspiration from veteran K-pop stars, particularly Lee Hyori of Fin.K.L, when shaping the contrasting concepts required for the role.

“Since the first and second concepts required a pure, fresh, and lively image, while later stages needed a sexy concept with a strong, toned physique, I thought of senior idol Lee Hyori from Fin.K.L,” Park said.

She also shared a humorous anecdote about filming the performance scenes, noting that although she had been confident during practice, things changed once filming began with her co-stars.

“I was actually doing well during practice and learned things quickly, but once filming started, senior actors Kang Dong Won and Uhm Tae Goo were guiding me a lot. Uhm Tae Goo kept joking around and even winking, so it became really chaotic,” she said, making people laugh.

'Wild Sing,' which features Park Ji Hyun alongside Kang Dong Won, Oh Jung Se, and Uhm Tae Goo, is scheduled for theatrical release nationwide on June 3.
