Ryu Seung Bum was found to have incurred a fine for repeatedly using a bus-only lane while driving a company vehicle in 2024, according to his former agency.
On May 23, Y·ONE Entertainment confirmed that it had verified the violation and completed payment of the related penalty immediately after receiving the official notice. The agency issued an apology, stating, “Regardless of the reason, we sincerely apologize for failing to strictly comply with traffic regulations.”
However, the agency did not disclose the number of violations or the total amount of the fine.
The clarification follows a report by TenAsia, which stated that during the filming of the Netflix movie 'Good News' in 2024, Ryu allegedly drove a company-provided vehicle himself and was fined multiple times for using bus-only lanes.
Ryu, who married a Slovakian artist in 2020, has been living between Korea and overseas. As he does not own a personal vehicle in Korea, he reportedly used a company car for personal transportation as well.
He signed an exclusive contract with Y·ONE Entertainment in 2023, but the agency confirmed that the contract has since been terminated.
