Song Min Ho’s Service Manager on Trial Over Alleged Role in Case

BY hjang · May 17, 2026

Song Min Ho of WINNER has admitted to charges in a military service violation case. His service manager, referred to as Manager A, denies the allegations. The Seoul Western District Court will hold the second hearing for Manager A on May 21. Proceedings in Song Min Ho’s case have concluded. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date. The prosecution has requested a prison sentence of one year and six months.

He was indicted without detention by the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office on December 30, 2025, alongside Manager A. Prosecutors allege that he failed to report to work during his service as a social service agent and was absent without leave for 102 days.

He is also accused of receiving approval from Manager A to be absent from work due to oversleeping or fatigue. Attendance records were allegedly falsified to indicate attendance. Prosecutors state in the indictment that Manager A facilitated absences and the falsification of records.

In one instance in May 2023, Manager A informed Song Min Ho in advance, "I have training tomorrow and will not be at work, so let’s meet on May 31." Song Min Ho did not report to work. His attendance log was subsequently falsified.

Manager A denies the charges, stating he did not conspire to facilitate absence from service. He intends to contest the charges in court.

Song Min Ho stated in his final statement that he failed to complete mandatory service and accepted responsibility. He stated he is receiving treatment for bipolar disorder and panic disorder and that the conditions are not an excuse. His counsel requested leniency, citing medical conditions including bipolar disorder, panic attacks, and a cervical disc injury, and stated he cooperated with investigators.

According to prosecutors, he served at the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation from March 2023 and later transferred to a local community facility in March 2024. He was discharged in December 2024. An investigation began in January 2025 following suspected irregular attendance. He initially denied the allegations but later admitted them after questioning.

He is alleged to have been absent without leave for 102 days out of approximately 430 required service days, including 19 of 23 working days in July 2024.
