Taeyang opened up about his new album 'Quintessence', Big Bang's group comeback, and his long-time relationship with the members of Epik High on the May 14 installment of 'Epikase'.
First, while talking about Taeyang's new album, Tablo mentioned that he participated as a lyricist in 3 of the tracks. The Epik High member said, "I got the credits to the 3 songs, and one of them was featuring The Kid Laroi? I was like, what is this?"
Taeyang explained, "You see, after I recorded the song, me and my team we all agreed that it would be so good if The Kid Laroi featured in it. But then by some coincidence, it turned out that The Kid Laroi was visiting Korea for a Spotify event. So we had dinner together."
He continued, "Well, I thought it wouldn't be right to ask him to feature for me as soon as we met, so I didn't bring it up, but after dinner, he said he wanted to see my studio. So we went, and I let him listen to my album since I mentioned that I was working on it, and as soon as I played 'Open Up', he said that he wanted to feature in it."
Hearing this, Tablo shouted, "Oh s*** yes! I got to work with The Kid Laroi!"

Meanwhile, on the status of Big Bang's full group comeback album, Taeyang said, "It's an emergency. We really need to finish it." However, he refused to budge when the Epik High members pestered him about more concrete details, like how many songs were finished and when the album would be released.
The members of Epik High then asked Taeyang to call G-Dragon, and they began pestering him instead. Falling for the trap(?), G-Dragon answered, "Well August 19 this year is our 20th anniversary, so I think it will be out around then?"
On the status of the title track, G-Dragon remarked in a roundabout manner, "It's probably not done yet. The title song is the song that you have to work on the longest."
