TWICE became the first K-pop girl group to win an award at the American Music Awards.
The group took home the trophy for “Best Female K-pop Artist” at the 2026 American Music Awards held on May 25 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Widely recognized alongside the Grammy Awards and Billboard Music Awards as one of the three major U.S. music awards ceremonies, the AMA marked TWICE’s first win after receiving their second nomination.
As AMA winners are determined entirely through fan voting, the achievement further demonstrated TWICE’s massive global popularity and fandom power.
The group is currently in the midst of its world tour, 'THIS IS FOR', which began in Incheon last July and spans 78 shows across 43 cities worldwide.
In Japan, the group also made history as the first overseas artist to hold concerts at Tokyo National Stadium, drawing a total of 240,000 fans over three days.
Now in the 12th year since debut, TWICE is currently continuing its European tour. The group has already completed concerts in Lisbon, Barcelona, Paris, Turin, Berlin, and Cologne, and is set to perform in Amsterdam on May 30 and 31.
