WJSN's Luda Cast as Female Lead in Webtoon-Based ‘Goong’ Adaptation… Takes on First Fusion Sageuk 10 Years After Debut

Luda of WJSN is set to star in her first fusion historical drama since debuting in 2016 with the upcoming series 'Love WiFi – Goong.'

On May 8, her agency iHQ stated, “Luda will appear in the KITS Premium Series 'Love WiFi – Goong.' Please look forward to and support the fresh new side of Luda that audiences have never seen before.”

'Love WiFi – Goong' is a fantasy romance that transcends time and space, following a webtoon writer desperate for a hit series and a court lady who dreams of becoming a royal concubine. The two communicate across the past and present through a mysterious mother-of-pearl cabinet. The project is based on the 2023 webtoon of the same name by writers Joa and Ginyu, and is expected to be produced in various formats, including short-form dramas, films, and mid-form content.

In the drama, Luda plays So Hyang, a court lady of low birth who works as a jimil na-in. So Hyang dreams of becoming a royal concubine after capturing the heart of King Lee Hwi, played by Kim Dong Jun. However, after communicating with Tae Poong, played by Younghoon, through a mother-of-pearl cabinet left behind by her father, she gradually begins to change. Luda is expected to lead the narrative as a central character who drives the story forward.

Luda has steadily built her acting career through projects including the 2023 web drama 'Rinza Noodle House,' 'My 20th Twenty,' and 'Villain Next Door.' In particular, she left a strong impression on viewers with her emotionally layered performance as Baek Mi So, the daughter of Baek Seol Hee (played by Jang Shin Young), in MBC’s 'The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun,' which concluded in December. As she prepares for another acting transformation through 'Love WiFi – Goong,' attention is growing over her future activities.

The KITS Premium Series 'Love WiFi – Goong' is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year.
