YENA reveals she bought Yangpyeong home for parents after solo debut, “They suffered during my childhood lymphoma battle”

'Knowing Bros' aired a heartfelt segment on May 30 featuring guests Christina, YENA, Zhang Hao, and Han Yujin, during which she shared that she had purchased a home for her parents in Yangpyeong using earnings from her solo activities.

During the episode, host Kang Ho Dong stated that he had heard she had used her settlement income to buy a house for her parents. She confirmed the report, explaining that supporting her family has always been a central motivation in her career.

“Taking care of my parents is the most important thing to me. It is also what makes me happiest,” she said. She further reflected on her childhood, revealing that she had previously been diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of childhood cancer. She shared that witnessing her parents’ difficulties during her treatment played a significant role in shaping her outlook on success.

“I grew up seeing how hard it was for them. That’s why I always felt I needed to succeed and repay them,” she said. “One of the reasons I am able to do what I do today is because of my parents, and I wanted to give back to them.”

She added that her parents currently reside in the Yangpyeong home she purchased. She also noted that she is staying in company-provided accommodation with her brother due to her work schedule.

The remarks drew attention for highlighting both her personal history and her continued commitment to supporting her family following her solo debut.
