Ahn Young Mi has shut down speculation that she plans to give birth overseas for her second child.
A representative from her agency, Media Lab Siso, told Dispatch on June 22 that Ahn Young Mi is scheduled to give birth to her second son at an obstetrics and gynecology clinic in South Korea this July.
Unlike her first pregnancy, Ahn Young Mi has chosen to give birth in Korea rather than in the United States. In 2023, she traveled abroad to be with her husband and remained overseas for about a year following the birth of their first child.
At the time, the decision was made so that she and her husband, who works in the United States, could raise their child together. However, the move sparked allegations of so-called “anchor baby,” prompting her to address the rumors publicly.
This time, her husband will travel to Korea instead. According to the agency representative, he plans to arrive around Ahn Young Mi’s due date and remain by his family’s side during the birth.
Ahn will also take a temporary break from hosting the radio program 'Ahn Young Mi’s Two O’Clock Date' on MBC FM4U. Special guest DJs will fill in until she returns following the birth of her second child.
Ahn married her non-celebrity husband, who is the same age as her, in 2020. The couple currently has one son and is expecting their second child next month.
