Byun Yo Han and Esom have completed filming for the upcoming movie 'Hamon' (working title), which is now moving into post-production.
Production company Star Platinum announced on June 25 that 'Hamon,' directed by Kim Sun Kyung, recently wrapped filming after completing all scheduled shoots.
'Hamon' tells the story of the Yedong Kwon family, which has long been involved in an illegal business. After the death of the family’s eldest heir, a fierce and uncontrollable conflict erupts over who will take over as the new successor.
Byun Yo Han stars as Park Ki Tae, a man who has long handled the family’s dirty work. Reflecting on the production, he said, “I hope every bit of the effort we put into this project reaches the audience.”
Esom plays Kwon So Hyun, the eldest daughter of the Kwon family. She shared, “Because my character had to go all the way through the story alongside such experienced senior actors, I couldn’t let my guard down for a moment.”
Kim Jun Han takes on the role of Kwon Do Young, the family’s eldest heir. “There were so many scenes that demanded complete intensity every moment,” he said. “I gave it my all, so I hope people look forward to it.”
Kim Jong Soo plays Kwon Byung Ryeol, the younger uncle in the family. He added, “I’m feeling a mix of emotions—some regret, but also a sense of relief.”
Director Kim Sun Kyung, who helmed the film, revealed that the project has been in the works for more than six years. “I’ve been preparing this story for over six years, so it feels surreal to finally see it becoming a film,” the director said.
Kim Sun Kyung also thanked the cast and crew for their dedication, adding, “It’s all thanks to the hard work of the staff and actors. We’ll do our best to finish post-production well and keep pushing forward until the day we meet audiences.”
'Hamon' is currently in post-production and is scheduled to be released next year.
