One of tvN’s most anticipated dramas of the year officially premiered on June 22.
The network’s new Monday-Tuesday series 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' made its debut amid growing buzz, with viewers and industry observers already wondering whether it could challenge tvN’s long-standing ratings records.
During an online press conference held on June 15, director Jo Eun Sol and cast members Seo In Guk, Park Ji Hyun, Kang Mi Na, and Choi Kyung Hoon introduced the drama and shared behind-the-scenes stories.
'See You at Work Tomorrow!' follows Cha Ji Yoon (played by Park Ji Hyun), a seventh-year office worker struggling with career burnout. Her life began to change after frequent clashes with her demanding supervisor, Kang Si Woo (played by Seo In Guk). As the two gradually became indispensable to one another, they rediscovered both love and ambition.
The drama was adapted from a webtoon of the same name that accumulated more than 200 million views.

Director Jo described the series as a romance that embraced love head-on. She explained, “The word ‘love’ may sound old-fashioned to some people, but this drama is unapologetically about love. We wanted to create the hottest romance of the summer, telling the story of people who love passionately and work passionately.” She added that the show portrayed modern relationships in a bold, honest, and sensual way.
Director Jo admitted that adapting the beloved source material came with considerable pressure.
“I used to commute on the KTX and remember reading the script on my exhausted ride home. It gave me butterflies,” she recalled. “I wanted this to become the kind of drama office workers could comfortably enjoy with a beer after a long day.”

While retaining the webtoon’s popular characters, the production team focused on strengthening their emotional journeys. “The storylines become more powerful as the series progresses,” Jo said. “That depth is our biggest strength.”
The director revealed that Seo In Guk immediately came to mind when casting the male lead.
She shared, “Kang Si Woo is a difficult character. He doesn’t speak much, but he has to create romantic tension through his eyes and presence alone,” she explained. “After finishing filming, I genuinely felt that nobody else could have played him.”
Park Ji Hyun’s casting stemmed from a different reason. “I chose her because of her sense of normality,” Jo said. “Portraying an ordinary, relatable person is actually very difficult and requires tremendous acting skill.”

She also recalled seeing Park perform comedy during an audition years ago and becoming a quiet supporter of the actress. “I always wanted to create a romance project with her someday,” Jo added.
Seo In Guk described Kang Si Woo as a highly disciplined man who carefully controlled his emotions. Seo In Guk explained, “He’s the type of person who plans every moment of his day from morning to night. He probably even plans his dreams.”
He was drawn to the drama’s realistic storytelling and relatable charm.
Park Ji Hyun described Cha Ji Yoon as a character many viewers could identify with. “She’s someone who has experienced both work and love,” she said. “Even after setbacks and heartbreak, she continues pursuing her passion. I hope viewers can reflect on how they face failure and grow from it.”

The two actors worked together for the first time on the project, and both emphasized their natural chemistry.
Park Ji Hyun admitted she initially thought Seo might be intimidating because of his cool image. “Once we started script readings, we discovered our sense of humor matched perfectly,” she said. “He guided me through every scene and felt like a dependable leader on set.”
Seo In Guk echoed the sentiment, joking that he would “send her payment later” after she complimented him, drawing laughter from attendees.
Kang Mi Na plays Yoon No Ah, an efficient and highly organized woman whose life changed after an unexpected event led her down a new path of self-discovery.

Meanwhile, Choi Kyung Hoon portrays Jo Ga Eul, a carefree character who matured through various experiences alongside Ji Yoon.
Both actors shared warm anecdotes from filming, prompting host Park Kyung Lim to jokingly call the event “a press conference full of heartwarming stories.”
“Back to Work Tomorrow” entered the competitive landscape facing a significant challenge if it hoped to become tvN’s highest-rated Monday-Tuesday drama.
The current record is held by '100 Days My Prince,' which achieved a nationwide peak rating of 14.4%.
Other top performers included:
The strong track record of romantic comedies among tvN’s highest-rated dramas was viewed as a potentially favorable sign for the new series.
Workplace romance dramas continued to be one of Korean television’s most successful genres.
Among notable recent hits:
'See You at Work Tomorrow!' premiered on tvN on June 22 and was scheduled to air every Monday and Tuesday. The 12-episode series adapted the hit webtoon while expanding the emotional development between its two leads.

Industry observers noted that the drama’s success would likely depend on the chemistry between Seo In Guk and Park Ji Hyun, as well as whether the narrative could build momentum through word-of-mouth. Many of the biggest Korean drama hits of recent years began with modest ratings before surging later in their runs.
As the series officially began its journey, attention turned to whether 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' could become the breakout office romance of the summer—and perhaps challenge one of tvN’s most formidable ratings records.
