Former Sechs Kies member Ko Ji Yong reconnects with fans through TikTok

BY Alec06 · June 18, 2026

Former Sechs Kies member Ko Ji Yong is reconnecting with fans through a new platform after years away from the entertainment spotlight.

Recently, Ko revealed through his Instagram account that he had launched an official TikTok channel, inviting followers to visit and interact with him through the global short-form video platform.

Please visit my TikTok account,” he wrote while sharing a screenshot of his new profile.

The move has drawn attention from fans, especially following concerns about his health in recent years. In 2025, Ko appeared on KBS2’s “The Return of Superman 2” and spoke candidly about a serious health issue he faced.

At the time, he revealed that he had been hospitalized after experiencing a significant decline in liver function. The situation became so severe that his weight reportedly dropped to 63 kilograms despite standing 180 centimeters tall.

Ko explained that he focused on recovery by completely giving up alcohol for six months and carefully managing his diet under medical guidance. He later reassured viewers that his condition had improved considerably.

Debuting with Sechs Kies in 1997, Ko Ji Yong rose to fame as part of one of first-generation K-pop’s most successful groups. After stepping away from the entertainment industry, he pursued a career in business and married family medicine specialist Heo Yang Im in 2013.

In 2016, Ko briefly reunited with his former group members during Sechs Kies’ celebrated reunion through MBC’s “Infinite Challenge.” However, he ultimately chose not to participate in full-scale group promotions, citing his business commitments and personal priorities.

That same year, he gained renewed public affection by appearing alongside his son Seungjae on KBS2’s “The Return of Superman,”.
