Heo Nam Jun opened up about his pre-fame hustle during a June 24 appearance on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' revealing he once worked seven days a week at construction sites for three straight months.
The actor shared that he'd wake up at 4 AM to line up at a labor office, picking up jobs at sites in Shindang-dong and a reconstruction project in Gwacheon. Despite exercising regularly, the physical demands still took a toll. He earned roughly $94 (130,000 won) per day, pulling in about $659 (910,000 won) a week with no days off.
Heo Nam Jun also tried selling shoes at a department store but found the system tough to navigate. Construction work suited him better — even if heights didn't. He recalled telling a supervisor he couldn't carry a long pipe over a cliff, which somehow charmed the boss enough to offer him more work.
The actor recently wrapped SBS's 'Wonderful New World,' which concluded on June 20 to warm viewer reception.
