I.O.I has once again captured public attention by showcasing their lasting friendship even years after disbandment.
On the June 13 broadcast of MBC’s entertainment program 'Point of Omniscient Interfere' (Episode 402), the members reunited to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary, offering fans a heartfelt glimpse into their continued bond.
Formed through the 2016 audition program 'Produce 101,' I.O.I rose to prominence in a remarkably short period of just eight months. Despite their brief official activities, the group achieved major success, including rookie awards and multiple music show wins, leaving a strong legacy in the K-pop industry.
During the reunion, the members reflected on how much has changed since their debut. “At the time of our debut, some members were still minors, but now we are all adults. It feels surreal,” they shared.
Member Jeon So Mi also drew attention with her humorous remark, saying, “What has changed is that I didn’t struggle much during practice back then, but now that I’m older, it’s much more physically demanding,” bringing laughter to the set.
Most notably, the members emphasized the strength of their relationship, revealing, “Even when we were not active, we kept in touch through our group chat every day. None of us have ever left the chat for 10 years, and we always spent Christmas together,” highlighting their enduring friendship beyond official group activities.
