IVE member Jang Won Young is continuing her legal battle against malicious online commenters.
On June 18, her agency Starship Entertainment posted an official notice on social media titled, “Update on Legal Action Regarding Violations of Our Artist’s Rights.”
The company stated that it has been pursuing legal measures against malicious posts and other harmful content targeting Jang Won Young. In some cases, suspects have already been identified.
For domestic platforms, legal procedures to obtain subscriber information are currently underway through court-issued warrants. For overseas platforms, the agency said it is pursuing international cooperation procedures to identify offenders.
A Starship representative stated, “We continue to collect evidence of posts and actions that infringe upon our artists’ rights.”
The agency added, “We are taking strong legal action against illegal acts, including insults, defamation, the spread of false information, and invasions of privacy.”
Starship also issued a firm warning, saying, “Regardless of whether posts are deleted, accounts are deactivated, or profiles are switched to private, we will pursue legal responsibility to the very end.”
The company has previously secured convictions against malicious content creators. One of the most notable cases involved Sojang, a controversial cyber-wrecker channel that produced defamatory videos targeting Jang Won Young.
Jang Won Young’s side pursued both civil and criminal legal action against the channel. After three rounds of court proceedings, a guilty verdict was finalized. The operator received a sentence of two years in prison, suspended for three years.
Meanwhile, IVE is scheduled to perform at the celebratory concert for the 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships Daegu, which will be held on August 21.
