KBS2's upcoming weekend drama 'Love Is Coming', starring Ha Seok Jin and Ahn Hee Yeon (Hani), will pick its official soundtrack (OST) singers through a fan-voted project.
The 'OST Match Point' project, now in its second season, is a fan-participatory initiative hosted by bnt and organized by Yogurt Studio and Rematch. It runs under the slogan "Fans Vote. Artists Record. The Official K-Drama OST," with global fandom platform JK FANDOM joining as a partner this season.
'Love Is Coming' is described as a 'family recipe' story about two people who piece together the fragments of a broken family to build the warmest life possible. The drama is currently in pre-production ahead of its broadcast. The project features two categories: a 'Popular Singer' division, which will record and release two OST parts, and an 'Idol' division, responsible for one OST part. Winning artists will sign a formal contract with Yogurt Studio and its management to officially release the drama's OST.
The first-place winner in the Popular Singer category will receive a billboard advertisement in Hongdae as a reward. If the artist or their agency has difficulty releasing the music, the reward will instead be an outdoor billboard in Gangnam. Specific candidate lineups for each category will be revealed sequentially at a later date.
Voting will take place across preliminary and final rounds. The preliminary round is set to begin on June 29 at 12 PM KST and close on July 13 at 3 PM KST, with only the top contenders advancing. The final round runs from July 14 at 12 PM KST to July 24 at 3 PM KST. Fans can vote on both the Rematch and JK FANDOM platforms, with scores from the two combined and tallied on an integrated website.
