Kim Ji Min apologizes over private social media controversy involving Park Hee Sun

Influencer Kim Ji Min, a former cast member of 'Heart Signal 4', has apologized following controversy surrounding the leak of her private social media posts. The incident drew attention after the posts were reported to include unverified rumors about public figures as well as political commentary.

On June 6 KST, Kim Ji Min issued a statement via her social media, saying, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people due to posts written in a personal space." She added, "I caused discomfort and disappointment with my immature words and actions."

The controversy centered on a private post that referenced Park Hee Sun in connection with an image related to Zoo Club. Zoo Club, a term combining ZOO and CLUB, has been described in online reports as a Telegram-based channel associated with anonymous tip submissions and the circulation of unverified personal information. Some reports have also alleged that certain posts linked to such channels may be removed in exchange for payment.

Kim Ji Min apologized for sharing content that included unverified material, stating, "I take responsibility for mentioning content that was not properly verified." She added that while she authored some of the posts in question, not all of the material was written by her, explaining that some content was shared or forwarded from others.

She also stated that she is reviewing possible legal action regarding the unauthorized distribution of her private posts and the spread of false information following the leak.

The incident began after posts from her private account, which reportedly included political views and unverified claims about certain celebrities and influencers, were circulated online, sparking public criticism over the targeting of specific individuals.

Meanwhile, influencer Park Hee Sun, one of the individuals mentioned in the controversy, has strongly denied the allegations, describing them as false. She previously stated that she had filed a criminal complaint regarding the spread of related false information, and that a suspect had been forwarded to the prosecution following an investigation.

Park Hee Sun’s representatives said, "The spread of false information and defamation constitute illegal acts," adding that they will continue to pursue legal action against further dissemination and reproduction of such content.

Although Kim Ji Min has apologized and clarified that some of the leaked material included externally sourced content, the controversy is expected to continue.
