International children’s rights NGO Save the Children announced on June 9 that the café run by singer Kwon Eun Bi, Geumeunbang, has joined its “Children-Saving Store” WESAVE campaign.
The WESAVE campaign, launched in 2016, encourages shops, hospitals, and companies across South Korea to support children in need by donating a fixed amount every month. The initiative has grown steadily over the years and surpassed 6,000 participating stores as of February.
Businesses that join WESAVE receive official promotional materials such as plaques, door stickers, wobblers, and online banners. Participating stores are also listed on the WESAVE website and social media channels, as well as platforms such as the Smart Seoul Map and the “Baemin Together Store” service.
Kwon Eun Bi, who operates the café Geumeunbang in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, shared her thoughts on joining the campaign: “Seeing the official plaque I used to only see online now hanging in my own store gives me pride in participating in a good cause. If my small contribution can make children’s days even a little warmer, that alone is meaningful enough.”
She added that joining WESAVE has given her a deeper sense of fulfillment as a business owner contributing to social impact.
Meanwhile, Save the Children’s official YouTube channel has released content featuring Kwon Eun Bi at Geumeunbang, showcasing her participation in the WESAVE campaign in Seongsu-dong.
