Singer and actor Lee Jun Young will soon begin his mandatory military service. The star personally shared the news with fans through a handwritten letter.
On June 14, Lee Jun Young posted a handwritten message on social media, revealing that he will enter a military training center on July 21. In the letter, he reflected on the decision to share the news directly with fans and promised to return in good health.
“I spent months thinking about how to begin this conversation,” Lee Jun Young wrote. “I will be enlisting on July 21.”
He added, “I’ll return healthy and well. Until the day I can greet you again, I hope everyone stays healthy and spends meaningful time in their lives.”
Despite his upcoming enlistment, Lee has continued an active acting career. He is currently appearing as Hwang Jun Hyun in the JTBC drama 'Reborn Rookie.' He has also completed filming for the upcoming tvN drama 'Four Hands' and is set to appear in the Netflix series 'Our Sticky Love' and the film 'Autograph (working title).'
Meanwhile, 'Reborn Rookie,' starring Lee Jun Young, airs every Saturday and Sunday on JTBC.
Below is his full translated letter:

"Hello, this is Lee Jun Young.
I spent months thinking and rethinking where to begin this message, and in the end, I decided to write to you myself. This is already the tenth draft. Haha.
By now, I imagine you've watched Episode 6 of The Rookie Chairman Kang and are getting ready for bed. Thank you, as always, for watching.
Well… I thought it would be better for me to tell you directly rather than have you hear the news through an article, so I decided to write this message. I never imagined I would be sharing news like this myself.
Yes! I will be enlisting on July 21.
Before I knew my enlistment date, I kept thinking, 'It’s no big deal. I’ll just go when the time comes.' But once I received the actual date, I found myself thinking about many things for the first time in a while.
I also spent a lot of time wondering how I should tell all of you first. As I write this message one letter at a time, I feel like my heart is becoming a little lighter.
I will do my best to serve in a healthy way and stay true to myself.
Until the day I can greet you again, I sincerely hope that all of you stay healthy and spend happy and meaningful times wherever you are.
Thank you for always caring about me and supporting me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this long message.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ×2."
