Nana declares “No forgiveness” after home intruder who threatened her and her mother is sentenced to 7 years

Singer and actress Nana expressed her anger and frustration following the sentencing of a man who broke into her home and attempted to rob her family.

On June 9, Nana shared a news article on her social media account regarding the first trial verdict of a man identified only as Mr. A, who had been indicted and detained on charges of robbery resulting in injury. Alongside the article, she wrote, “Who is the victim here?”

Nana went on to criticize the defendant’s conduct throughout the legal proceedings, stating, “There have been multiple trials because of the criminal. Six public hearings and one sentencing hearing today, a total of seven. He consistently changed his testimony and lied. There is no remorse from the criminal.”

She concluded her statement with a firm message, “There is no forgiveness.” 

Earlier that day, the Criminal Division 1 of the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court sentenced the defendant, a man in his 30s, to seven years in prison for robbery causing injury.

The court explained that it had taken into account the severe psychological and physical suffering experienced by the victims, their desire for punishment, the fact that the crime remained an attempted offense, and that the weapon carried by the defendant did not appear to have been intended specifically to inflict injury.

The court also ruled that the injuries sustained by the defendant during the incident were the result of Nana’s legitimate self-defense. According to the court, Nana acted to protect herself and her family from serious harm, and it was reasonable to conclude that the defendant could have anticipated such resistance from the victims.

The incident occurred in November 2025 when the defendant allegedly broke into Nana’s residence while carrying a weapon. He threatened Nana and her mother and attempted to steal money from them. During a struggle, Nana and her mother managed to restrain him by grabbing his arm before contacting the police.

Following the incident, the defendant filed a counter-complaint against Nana, claiming that he had been injured and accusing her of attempted murder. However, police determined that Nana’s actions constituted self-defense and declined to pursue charges.

In response, Nana filed a counter-lawsuit against the defendant on charges of making a false accusation, further escalating the legal dispute.
