Nichkhun reflects on viral appearance discussion: “I was just happy”

2PM member Nichkhun has personally addressed the attention surrounding his recent appearance, revealing that he has since lost weight in preparation for his latest activities.

In a recent video uploaded to 2PM’s official YouTube channel titled “Must-Watch Before Traveling to Thailand: Thai Recommendations by Nichkhun,” the singer visited his hometown and shared some of his favorite local products with fans.

During the trip, Nichkhun stopped by a café and revealed that he was only drinking an iced Americano while maintaining an empty stomach ahead of a scheduled event. When staff members expressed concern, he reassured them, saying he would enjoy a proper meal once his schedule was over.

The conversation eventually turned to the recent buzz surrounding his fuller appearance. Nichkhun surprised viewers by showing a noticeably slimmer physique and explained, “I lost all the weight for promotions. It was difficult.”

Staff members then mentioned feeling guilty for filming content during the period when he had gained weight. However, Nichkhun brushed off the concern with his trademark easygoing attitude.

“No, it was my choice,” he said. “I liked it. The atmosphere during filming was comfortable, and I probably looked worse because I wasn’t managing my expressions. But wasn’t the content fun? That’s all that matters. Weight can always be lost.”

Nichkhun also expressed gratitude toward fans who reacted positively to the discussion about his appearance.

“Thankfully, fans told me, ‘People should live happily.’ I was really grateful for those words,” he shared.

Last month, Nichkhun drew attention after appearing noticeably different from his usual on-stage image. While some commented on his weight gain, many fans praised him for looking relaxed, healthy, and happy. His latest comments have since earned further admiration for their honesty and positive outlook.
