SEVENTEEN's new unit V8, composed of members The8 and Vernon, has unveiled the final concept film and photos for their highly anticipated first mini album, 'V8', ahead of its official release on June 29.
Released on June 22, the 'REV' concept draws inspiration from the idea of accelerating an engine's rotation speed, symbolizing V8's continuous propulsion and self-ignition. The concept photos portray a 'Consumed Youth' theme, set against the beautiful golden hour of sunset in a vast, golden-hued field. Scenes of the members enjoying fireworks further highlight a youthful vigor that transforms confusion and uncertainty into fuel for their journey.
The accompanying concept film, 'REV the engine', captures The8 and Vernon moving forward despite moments of wandering and hesitation. It features the rough and heavy sound characteristic of the electro trash genre, reflecting the unit's unique attitude and energy. This final concept follows previously released versions like 'CHECK OUT' and 'RATS NEST', building anticipation for the album's diverse sound.
The mini album 'V8' is set to explore themes of wandering, confusion, recovery, and growth through a vibrant collection of electronic music. It will feature eight tracks, including the title song 'singasong', with contributions from renowned producers such as Pharrell Williams, Mechatok, KIRARA, and Dylan Brady. Fans can look forward to a pre-listening party on June 28 at Grain House in Itaewon-dong, Seoul, which will be held in a DJ party format.
Following the album's release, V8 will embark on their '2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE' solo concert series. Performances are scheduled for July 11-12 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, and July 17-19 at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall in Hong Kong, connecting with global fans.
