Shinji’s husband Moon Won reveals social anxiety after malicious rumors, “Even people I knew were among the trolls”

Moon Won, singer and husband of Koyote member Shinji, revealed that he developed social anxiety following a period of intense online harassment and false rumors surrounding their relationship prior to marriage.

According to Newsis, Moon Won made the disclosure during the premiere episode of MBN’s entertainment program 'Someone's Precious Family Member,' which aired on June 2, where he appeared alongside Shinji to discuss their relationship and marriage journey.

Moon Won recalled that he and Shinji were subjected to widespread speculation after unexpected marriage rumors emerged last July. He stated that the situation became emotionally distressing as criticism extended beyond himself to include Shinji and their respective families.

“I was deeply hurt that not only I, but also Shinji and my family were being insulted,” he said, adding that the situation worsened after he discovered that some of those involved in spreading rumors and posting malicious comments were people he personally knew. “That was when I developed social anxiety,” he said.

Shinji also shared her perspective on the ordeal, noting that Moon Won would often stay up throughout the night reading online comments and struggling emotionally. She emphasized her trust in him, referencing that he had been transparent about his previous divorce and having a child before their relationship began. “We were certain about each other from the beginning, so there was no reason for doubt,” she said.

Addressing their decision to appear on television despite ongoing public scrutiny, Shinji explained that while some apprehension remains, they chose to present their everyday lives without staging or alteration. Shinji and Moon Won married after three years of dating.
