Global Citizen is an international advocacy organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty. Over the years, world-renowned artists including Beyoncé, Coldplay, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish, and Red Hot Chili Peppers have participated in its events. In 2021, BTS also drew global attention with a special performance filmed against the backdrop of Sungnyemun for Global Citizen Live.
This year’s event carried additional significance as it marked the first-ever Global Citizen Live held in Japan. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports expanded access to education and sports opportunities for children in underserved communities.
Meanwhile, &TEAM is currently on its Asian tour and will hold solo concerts at Inspire Arena on July 4 and 5.
