THE BOYZ member Q, promoting under his real name Ji Chang Min, is set to make his debut as a lead actor in the upcoming MBC Plus drama 'My Idol, My Debut.'
The production team recently unveiled the first character stills of Ji Chang Min as Han Jae Ha, a central member of the fictional boy group BOY TO THE MOON and one of the key figures driving the story. Alongside the images, the drama also released its first story-focused content through official social media channels.

'My Idol, My Debut' is a time-slip coming-of-age drama that follows a devoted fan who travels eight years into the past and becomes an idol trainee in an effort to prevent a tragic accident and change fate. The project has already generated buzz for its unique format, featuring a fictional idol group that will release actual music and participate in real promotional activities alongside the drama.
In the newly released stills, Ji Chang Min perfectly embodies Han Jae Ha during his high school years, showcasing a youthful and refreshing charm in his school uniform. While one image captures him smiling brightly at his desk, another shows him gazing into the distance with a more contemplative expression, hinting at the character's hidden story and emotional depth.
The accompanying story content further heightened curiosity. In the clip, Han Jae Ha shares a meaningful confession, saying, “There was a friend who gave me courage during my school days. If it weren't for that person, I wouldn't be where I am today. I hope that friend hears this song somewhere.”
The statement has sparked interest in the identity of the mysterious friend and the untold story behind their relationship, while also building anticipation for the music and narrative yet to be revealed.
With this project marking the beginning of his acting career, Ji Chang Min is expected to bring authenticity to the role by drawing on his real-life experience as a global K-pop artist. The drama will explore the passion, struggles, and growth of young people chasing their dreams of debuting, offering him an opportunity to showcase his potential as an actor.
The drama is aiming for a July premiere, with additional content scheduled to be released in the coming weeks.
