On July 1, the 'Vanity Fair' YouTube channel uploaded a new interview featuring five members of the global girl group KATSEYE: Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae. Member Manon was notably absent.
When asked about the hard transition from being survival show competitors to actual group members, Sophia shared her thoughts. She explained that even during the competition, the girls secretly wanted each other to succeed. She noted that because they all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, making group decisions can be complicated. However, she proudly shared that they chose each other to become a family and are working hard to build a strong bond together.
Manon's absence continues to cause confusion among the fandom. Back on February 21, their agency announced she was taking a break to focus on her health. However, Manon later shared a message saying she is healthy and taking good care of herself. These conflicting statements sparked rumors, with some fans wondering if she was facing racism, although others point out that the entire group is diverse and non-white. Currently, there is no official news regarding her return.
KATSEYE was formed through the survival show 'The Debut: Dream Academy' and officially debuted on August 16, 2024. As a global girl group, they mainly promote in the US but also appear on Korean music and variety shows. They are known for songs like "Touch," "Gnarly," "Debut," and "Gameboy."
