Comedian Shin Bong Sun has opened up about her preparations for retirement and life in the future.
On the July 5th broadcast of 'My Little Old Boy,' Shin Bong Sun appeared as the show's special MC.
During the episode, Seo Jang Hoon asked, “Shin Bong-sun is 47 now, and I heard her last relationship was in her 30s. It seems blind dates completely stopped once she turned 40.”
Shin Bong Sun replied, “Even in my 30s, I was sometimes set up with people as a ‘cute but not-so-pretty’ image, but once I hit my 40s, even saying things like that started to feel rude.”
She continued, “I think, if I had to categorize myself, I’m neither man nor woman—I just feel like a human being.”

She also shared that she has been preparing for her later years.
She said, “If marriage is something that one can do alone, I would try hard. But marriage is something you still have to win over another person’s heart, and that felt like a waste of time.”

Shin Bong Sun added, “A pension savings plan I contributed to for 10 years since my late 20s — 1 million won per month — has now matured. I’m looking into different things. I’m practicing living alone in a fun and enjoyable way.”
She also talked about her mother’s reactions, saying, “She used to say, ‘Men aren’t a big deal, just marry someone kind.’ But later she said, ‘Who would put up with your personality?’ She even watched TV and told me, ‘How about freezing your eggs?’ So I honestly thought they sold separate fridges for eggs.”

However, the comedian added with humor, “I think she says these things because she just worries about me being alone in the future.”
