Reports that tvN’s ‘Signal 2’ is set to air in November have reignited public debate over whether actor Cho Jin Woong will appear in the series without edits, with online opinion sharply divided.
According to a report by MyDaily on June 30, the long-delayed sequel is expected to premiere on November 30. The drama is scheduled to air as a Monday–Tuesday series with a total of eight episodes, running through December 22.
‘Signal 2’ is the follow-up to the 2016 hit drama ‘Signal’, returning nearly a decade after its original broadcast. The series was initially planned for release during tvN’s 20th anniversary year but was later postponed before its latest scheduling update.
The new season once again stars Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and Cho Jin Woong, with writer Kim Eun Hee and director Ahn Tae Jin leading production.
Attention has since shifted to Cho Jin Woong, following renewed controversy last year after past allegations related to juvenile offenses resurfaced, prompting public backlash and uncertainty surrounding his future in the industry.

Following the broadcast report, online reactions have been sharply divided. Some viewers expressed anticipation for the long-awaited release, arguing that the drama should be aired as originally filmed. Others raised concerns over Cho Jin Woong’s continued involvement in the project.
In December last year, Cho Jin Woong announced a suspension of his entertainment activities, issuing a statement apologizing for past controversies and declaring his withdrawal from acting.
With the broadcast schedule now resurfacing, attention has turned to whether his role will appear unedited in the final cut of the series.
However, tvN has stated that nothing has been finalized regarding the broadcast schedule or related decisions, maintaining a cautious stance amid ongoing speculation.
