Ballad singer KCM (Kang Chang Mo) is finally holding a wedding ceremony, 14 years after welcoming his first child.
On July 6, his agency A2Z Entertainment announced that KCM will hold his wedding ceremony with his wife, Bang Ye Won, on October 4 at 5 p.m. at the Sebitseom Floating Island in Seoul. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Soo Yeon, in 2012 but had to postpone their wedding due to various personal circumstances, including KCM's military service and business failures.
The pair officially registered their marriage in 2021, nine years after their first child was born. They have since expanded their family, welcoming a second daughter, Seo Yeon, in 2022, and a son, Ha On, in 2023.
Through his agency, KCM shared, "I'm happy to be able to keep my promise to my wife after 14 years. This is thanks to my wife, who silently endured difficult times, and my three children, who gave me courage at every moment." He added, "The wedding is a place to commit to living for my family for the rest of my life and to express my gratitude to precious people. I am also sincerely grateful to the fans who have sent their unwavering support for a long time."
KCM had previously revealed on broadcasts that he had to delay his marriage due to shouldering billions of won in debt from co-signing a loan. He confessed that he couldn't even register his marriage out of fear that the financial burden would be passed on to his wife. He only did so after clearing the entire debt.
The singer, known for hit songs like "Black and White Photo" and "To Eunyoung," has seen a career resurgence after appearing on shows like MBC's 'King of Mask Singer' and as a member of the project group MSG Wannabe on 'Hangout with Yoo?'. He currently showcases his life as a father on KBS 2TV's 'The Return of Superman' and his personal YouTube channel.
