WayV's Xiaojun, Hendery, & Yangyang react after trying this difficult Korean food for the first time on 'My K-Star Family'

On the January 17 broadcast of Discovery Channel Korea's 'My K-Star Family', the Way-Bin family members Yubin, WayV's Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang continued to enjoy their siblings-vacation in the countryside. 

After a barbecue dinner of samgyupsal, Yubin brought a special treat that she wanted her little brothers to try out - fermented skate! A unique South Korean dish consisting of raw ocellate spot skate meat which has been fermented, the dish is well-known for being difficult, even for native Koreans. 

Yubin, a lover of fermented skate, warned her younger brothers that the meat should be eaten a certain way, especially for those trying it out for the first time. Yubin suggested that the boys wrap the skate in kimchi, with a piece of grilled samgyupsal stacked on top as well. 

However, declaring, "Original is the best," WayV members Hendery and Yangyang picked up a piece each and put it in their mouths right away! 

Immediately after the first few bites, both Hendery and Yangyang could not hide their troubled expressions. Later on, Hendery recalled, "I made a mistake. You really should not eat the fermented skate by itself." Yangyang said, "It tasted so weird. It tasted like sashimi seasoned with hair bleach."

Xiaojun, on the other hand, waited before putting the piece of meat in his mouth. Then, after two bites, he spit it out right away while Yubin was busy talking with the others, then acted like nothing happened. Meanwhile, not wanting to decline Yubin's treat, Hendery and Yangyang tried the fermented skate again as Yubin directed, along with kimchi and samgyupsal. But in the end, none of the WayV boys could get used to the powerful odor!
