At the beginning of the interview, ROSÉ revealed the surprising inspiration behind 'Rosie's lead single: a popular Korean drinking game called “APT (Apartment pronounced as apateu).” Reflecting on the song's creation, she shared, “It’s one of many drinking games, but it seemed to be the one that all my friends in the studio were vibing to. I thought, ‘Huh, this is interesting,’ and it inspired me to say, ‘I think we should write a song on this.’” She also shared the thrill of collaborating with global superstar Bruno Mars on the track, describing it as “the craziest experience of my life.”
When asked about her ideal studio environment, ROSÉ got candid, describing how challenges in her personal life have often fueled her creativity. “Life has been kind of bad lately,” she admitted, but this struggle gave way to some of her best sessions. 'Rosie,' she explained, reflects her journey over the past three to four years, packed with raw emotions and honest storytelling. “It has a lot of my heartbreaking stories and vulnerable emotions built into it. I think that’s the beauty of it,” ROSÉ said. “You can make something not so great into something beautiful.”
