aespa releases ‘WDA (Whole Different Animal)’ MV featuring G-Dragon

BY Alec06 · May 11, 2026

aespa has officially released the music video for “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” featuring G-Dragon.

Released on May 11 at 6 p.m. KST, “WDA” serves as a pre-release track from aespa’s upcoming second full-length album. The song is a hip hop-based dance track highlighted by grand synth bass and a heavy hook, while capturing aespa’s evolving narrative and growth.

G-Dragon participated not only as a featured artist but also in the rap-making for his own verse, drawing major attention from fans over the unexpected collaboration.

The music video was simultaneously unveiled through the SMTOWN YouTube channel and other official platforms. Set in a world where the boundaries between reality and the digital realm have become blurred, the MV portrays mysterious figures who look like aespa but are not actually aespa, creating confusion surrounding identity and existence.

According to SM Entertainment, the video explores themes surrounding originals versus copies and reality versus virtual identity, continuing aespa’s long-running universe centered around their virtual counterparts, ae-aespa.

Ahead of the release, aespa also held a special “WDA Countdown Live” through YouTube and TikTok, where the members communicated with fans and shared behind-the-scenes stories about the new song.

Following the release, fans reacted online with comments such as, “G-Dragon featuring on an aespa track is insane,” “aespa’s universe keeps getting deeper,” and “This collaboration is legendary already.”
