NMIXX officially returned with the music video for “Heavy Serenade,” the title track from their fifth mini album of the same name, released on May 11. The comeback marks the group’s first return in approximately seven months.
The title track “Heavy Serenade” has already attracted attention for featuring lyrics co-written by singer-songwriter Hanroro. The song blends elements of trance, acid, and drum and bass into NMIXX’s signature “MIXX POP” style, further strengthening the group’s distinctive musical identity.
Member Lily explained the meaning behind the song, saying, “People usually think of the word ‘heavy’ in a negative way, but we wanted to express how overwhelming and uncontrollable genuine feelings can become when love grows deep and intense.”
NMIXX has recently gained international recognition for their powerful live performances at major South American music festivals, including the 'São Paulo Carnival' in Brazil and the 'Viña del Mar International Song Festival' in Chile. Their appearances further showcased the group’s stable vocals and energetic stage presence on global stages.
With “Heavy Serenade,” NMIXX continues to push musical boundaries while reinforcing their reputation as one of K-pop’s most experimental and performance-driven groups.
