On April 8 at approximately 7:30 PM KST, the parents of rappers Microdot and Sanchez returned to Korea via Incheon airport from Auckland, New Zealand.
Currently, Microdot and Sanchez's parents are facing fraud accusations from back in 1998, when they scammed fellow neighbors in the city of Jecheon for as much as 2 billion KRW (roughly 1.7 million USD).
Police, who were waiting at the airport in order to arrest the rappers' parents on the spot, immediately transported both to the Jecheon police station. To the press present on scene, Microdot and Sanchez's father stated, "It was all we could do due to the IMF (financial crisis in South Korea in the 1990s). We apologize." The parents also added, "We will participate in the investigation diligently."
Reportedly, the two rappers' parents have so far contacted 8 out of 14 individuals who were involved in the fraud case from back in 1998 to work out settlements and repayments.
