This ranking helps to gauge the marketability of an idol in South Korea, based on how the public perceives them, and it influences matters such as brand endorsement deals for an idol.
He also ranked first in the Gallup survey for 'Korea's Most Preferred Idols' for years 2018 and 2019, becoming the first male idol ever to top this survey, and also the first and only male idol to rank first for two consecutive years. Jimin was also the highest-ranking BTS member since the year 2016. Gallup is an international research company that conducts surveys on public opinion for various topics, with the most notable one being presidential elections. Their surveys have 95% reliability.
Data from google trends collected up until August 21, also portrayed that Jimin was the most searched BTS member worldwide in the past year and also in the past five years. Indeed Samsung knows and acknowledged the brand power that Jimin possesses, based on past results and even now. For this particular campaign, Samsung incorporated the group's latest hit single, 'Butter,' in advertising the product. For one part, there were photo advertisements posted on different Samsung official handles for different regions. On the other part, a video advertisement was posted on the brand's YouTube channel, and it had snippets of the song's music video. Here, Jimin's part in the music video, which had come to be known as the '1:11 Killing Part' on the song's release, was featured in the AD. Additionally, as the official accounts made other posts on Twitter, they specifically extracted Jimin's part and used it in their posts on the official Twitter handles. The case has been the same in previous campaigns, such as the S21 campaigns.
