Jimin does not just create art, but he is art in itself. He leaves a lasting impression on the audience every time that he gets on stage for a dance performance. Such impact has been attributed to his ability to express emotions through his dance, the fluidity of his movements, and the uniqueness of his moves. He incorporates elements from different dance genres in which he has trained to make a dance move unique only to him. Many dance professionals who have analyzed his dance contend that Jimin has his own dance genre, one which cannot be taught or learned through practice.
His dance lines are so smooth and beautiful that various artists have used his stage performances as inspirations for their artworks, which have ended up being displayed in national exhibitions. An example is when Honorary Professor of Seoul National University, Jin Young-sun, exhibited a fresco painting inspired by Jimin's 2019 MMA "I Need U" solo at the Alumni Exhibition of SNU Villa D'Art. Back in 2019, artist Goheon Kim Ho-sung displayed an artwork inspired by Jimin's MMA 2018 fan dance at his 'Fun&Fan' exhibition held at Insa Art Plaza, and it drew a lot of attention online.
Jimin has also gained recognition for his dance, both from government and cultural institutions. Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of South Korea published a magazine where they used JImin's photo from his fan dance on the cover. He also received an Appreciation Plaque for his fan dance performed at the 2018 MMAs, where the 'Kim Baek Bong Fan Dance Conservation Society' stated that 'By having re-interpreted the beautiful Korean fan dance in a unique way, Jimin had made a great contribution in raising the status and aesthetic value of the Korean fan dance globally.'
For such captivating performances, both to the eyes and to the heart, the Melon Music Awards show has repeatedly used his previous performance clips on the show for preview videos of upcoming shows. On November 3, the official Melon account on Twitter posted a preview of the upcoming 2021 MMA show, which showed highlights from the show's previous years' performances.
Jimin's part from the iconic 'Black Swan' performance showcased at the 2020 MMAs is included in the highlights. The selection of his specific part is an indication of how well he executed the moves and that he stood out in the performance.
This is not the first time that the show has used Jimin's performances in preview clips for upcoming shows. In 2020, Jimin's 'I Need You' solo stage, which was from the 2019 MMAs, and his traditional fan dance from the 2018 MMAs were also included in the video about the history of the award show.
The fact that all of his solo stages and individual clips from the past three year's performances have been selected as part of the video advertising the show leaves no doubt regarding his talent and skill. He is a highlight in every show that he participates in.
