Jimin sets a new Guinness World Record as the Fastest K-pop Solo Artist to reach 1 BILLION Streams on Spotify

Jimin's solo career is only about two months old, but he is already cementing his name in the history books. After being recorded in the history of the Billboard charts as the first Korean solo artist to reach #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and Artist 100 charts (considering that USA is the biggest music market in the world and Billboard Hot 100 is the most competitive and the main singles chart in the country), he has yet again officially been recognized as the fastest Korean solo artist to reach 1 Billion streams on his Spotify profile!

On May 22, music data sources reported that Jimin's Spotify profile had now surpassed 1 Billion streams across all credits, becoming the fastest Korean/K-pop solo artist in history to reach this milestone. It took him 393 days to achieve these numbers, breaking the previous record of 409 days. Along with his record, Jimin has also achieved the biggest streaming year in history for any Korean solo artist, among other records on the platform.

On May 26, Guinness World Records officially recognized and published Jimin's record as the fastest Korean solo artist to reach 1 Billion streams on Spotify.

Fans congratulated Jimin and remained in awe of his impact in the music world, mentioning that Jimin's Korean releases constituted a majority of the record1 Billion streams since his only Western release had been out for less than a week before the record's achievement. Of note is that Western music releases usually have advantages on streaming platforms, such as massive playlisting and radio plays that expand the songs' audience reach and thus boost their streaming numbers significantly. Thus, Jimin was able to achieve this big feat with little to no such advantages, and that makes his record that much more commendable.

Celebrations were in order for such a major achievement by Jimin, and fans donated to causes that Jimin holds close to his heart, like the wellbeing of children, through donations to UNICEF.

There were also online celebrations with fans sending Jimin their messages of congratulations and telling him how proud they are of him and all that he has achieved, causing various tags and keywords to trend on Twitter. Different media outlets reported on this huge achievement and fans' celebrations.

Including all other Jimin's songs released under BTS' discography, his total streams on Spotify are already over 2 Billion!
