YG Entertainment dismisses rumor BLACKPINK's Jennie will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe

BY Dani-Dee · June 12, 2023

YG Entertainment is responding to a rumor that Jennie will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Over the past few days, unconfirmed reports from several media outlets shared that the BLACKPINK member would be joining Marvel's new series 'Kingdom War - New Agents of Atlas.'

According to reports, Jennie will be a member of the New Agents of Atlas, the first-ever Asian superhero team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She'll be playing K-pop singer and superhero Luna Snow aka Seol Hee, who manipulates ice to protect people in the Pacific Rim and around the world. Like Jennie, Luna Snow speaks both Korean and English. The character was previously voiced by f(x)'s Luna in the 2020 video game 'Marvel Super War.'

However, YG Entertainment has denied the rumor, adding, "There has been no such [role] offer."

Meanwhile, Jennie currently plays the role of backup dancer Dyanne in HBO's 'The Idol,' which was released earlier this month.
