“Call Me JISOO NOONA,” A Funny Video of BLACKPINK's JISOO featuring Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was uploaded on "Coupang Play"

On August 2, a delightful surprise awaited fans on the YouTube channel “Coupang Play Sports.” There was a vibrant interview between K-Pop sensation JISOO from BLACKPINK and the illustrious soccer icon, Erling Haaland.

During their chat, Jisoo shared an intriguing tidbit, “There's a popular phrase amongst Korean fans of Haaland and Manchester City – 'Haaland is on fire'. It's a way of saying someone is exceptionally cool here in Korea."

Haaland, embracing the compliment with grace and humor, attempted to repeat "Haaland is on fire" in Korean. His spot-on pronunciation drew a round of heartfelt applause from Jisoo. 

Born in 1995, Jisoo is five years older than Haaland, a detail she didn't shy away from. She playfully encouraged the soccer star to call her "Jisoo noona," a term of endearment in Korean meaning "older sister." Haaland, greeted with this unexpected request, gave a bashful yet charming smile.

Taking it in stride, Haaland responded energetically, "Hi, Jisoo noona." The exchange brought out laughter from Jisoo, who jovially confirmed, "Now, we've established a noona-dongsaeng (older sister-younger brother) bond." This light-hearted interaction between the two stars surely adds a fun and heartwarming layer to their unexpected meet-up.

On the same day, Haaland also shared his thoughts on his first visit to Korea, his connection with Hwang Hee-Chan, who played alongside him at Salzburg, achieving the treble (3 major cups in a season), and his experience at the final league victory celebration, among other things.
