EXO's stellar-streaming record of 14.6 Billion streams earns them the title of "K-pop Emperor" by Melon

On August 25, Melon shared an article discussing the impressive number of streams accumulated by the K-pop group, EXO. The analyzed data encompass the group's collective, individual, and subgroup activities on the platform. Remarkably, the team garnered over 14.678 billion streams, earning them a unique spot in Melon's history.

This record is the highest cumulative streaming total on Melon, combining group, unit, and solo performances. As a result, Melon has hailed EXO as the 'Emperor of K-pop.'

The main group, EXO, accounts for about 8.32 Billion streams on the platform, placing them as the second most-streamed group. This achievement not only honors their melodic prowess but also inducts them into Melon's prestigious Hall of Fame Gold Club.

Furthermore, the collective streams from EXO members' individual activities are nearing the 5 billion-stream milestone. Notably, EXO members Baekhyun and Chen have distinguished themselves in the "Billions Club," an exclusive club for artists who have amassed over 1 billion streams. With this accomplishment, EXO proudly stands as the only group with more than two entities listed in the Billions Club simultaneously.

The remaining streams, approximately 1.1 Billion, are attributed to the group's sub-unit activities, highlighting the group's all-around popularity and success.

Since their debut in 2012, EXO has consistently charted hits such as "Growl," "Mama," "Monster," and "Tempo." Their most recent comeback witnessed the release of their 7th full album, "EXIST," which impressively hit the seventh "million seller" mark the day of its release. This level of success serves as concrete evidence of EXO's maintained popularity among K-pop fans, proving their relevancy and influence even after a decade in the industry.
