Daesung's 'Hangout with Yoo' replay videos suspended after G-Dragon's drug controversy

Daesung's 'Hangout with Yoo' replay videos have been suspended after G-Dragon's drug controversy.

Following G-Dragon's drug controversy, his fellow BIGBANG member Daesung is also receiving backlash. As of October 26, Daesung's 'Hangout with Yoo' episode on the show's official website and OTT platform has been suspended. The clip video from last week's episode and the trailer video for next week starring Daesung are still available. His appearance on the show was also his long-awaited return to variety shows.

Daesung's former controversies are also being brought back into the spotlight. In July of 2019, it was revealed 5 illegal entertainment establishments were operating in an 8-story building purchased by Daesung at the end of 2017. At the time, the Gangnam Police Station booked 56 business owners and employees who operated the entertainment businesses on the charges of violating the Food Sanitation Act and the Prostitution Punishment Act. Daesung was found not guilty in any wrongdoing as there was no evidence that he was aware of the illegal businesses. Though he was found innocent, the BIGBANG member took a hit to his image, and he had no choice but to temporarily suspend his activities. 

As previously reported, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's drug crime investigation team booked G-Dragon without detention on the charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. The police reportedly secured G-Dragon's drug-related statements from the head of the Gangnam entertainment business, who was previously arrested.
