EXO's Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment executives for fraud.
On June 26, the trio's label INB100 stated, "Yesterday, the members and INB100 filed a complaint with the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul against SM Entertainment's Chief A&R Officer Lee Sung Soo and co-CEO Tak Young Joon for fraud in violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment etc., of Specific Economic Crimes." The basis of their legal complaint is the negotiated distribution fee between EXO-CBX and SM Entertainment and the actual distributed fee allegedly paid to them.
INB100 previously revealed the label would be filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment for their allegedly improper distribution system. Earlier this month, the label stated at a press conference, "SM Entertainment disregarded the negotiated terms that were the basis of the agreement." However, SM Entertainment denied the allegations in a statement the same day and later filed a lawsuit against EXO-CBX, and the trio released their own statement.
Stay tuned for updates on the ongoing legal conflict.
