On August 28, 2024, KTown4u revealed they sent sales data, including product barcodes and quantities purchased by domestic and international fans, to Hanteo Global, just as they always have. However, KTown4u claims that even after Hanteo Global received this data, they did not update their chart to reflect these sales and didn't provide a valid reason. When KTown4u raised concerns, Hanteo Global demanded sensitive personal information—such as the buyer's gender, age, detailed address, member ID, order ID, and tracking number—claiming it was necessary to verify the sales.
KTown4u strongly opposed this demand, as requesting or sharing such personal information without customer consent is a violation of the Personal Information Protection Act and international standards. On September 2, KTown4u posted a notice about this dispute on social media platform X.
