Shin Hyun Joon gets emotional after seeing a life-size cutout of the late Kim Soo Mi at the 'Ghost Cop' press conference

The press conference for the film 'Ghost Cop' took a deeply emotional turn when a life-size cutout of the late Kim Soo Mi made an unexpected appearance.

On January 13, the press screening and media conference for 'Ghost Cop,' directed by Kim Young Joon, was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. Director Kim and actor Shin Hyun Joon attended the event to discuss the movie.

During the photo session, a life-size cutout of Kim Soo Mi appeared in place of the actress, who has since passed away. This was done at the request of her son, who said, "She would have wanted to be here." The gesture left a profound impact on everyone present.

Shin Hyun Joon, upon seeing the cutout, broke down in tears and struggled to regain his composure, moving many others at the event to tears as well.

Unlike typical cutouts, which are discarded after such events, this one was treated with exceptional care. After the event, Shin Hyun Joon carefully arranged for it to be transported to his production company, HJ Film. The cutout was later spotted in an interview, standing prominently behind Shin Hyun Joon as a tribute.

According to close sources, "Shin Hyun Joon tears up whenever he sees the cutout," further highlighting the close bond he shared with Kim Soo Mi. For many years, the two played a mother-and-son duo in various projects, forging a relationship that transcended the screen.

Audiences will have the chance to witness their final mother-son performance in 'Ghost Cop,' which is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on January 24.
