BLACKPINK's Lisa says she didn't realize music video production was so costly until after establishing her own agency

BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently shared the difficulties she faced after launching her own agency.

On February 28, the YouTube channel Zip Daesung released a video titled 'BangPink in Your Area Part 2 | Only Two Left Now.' In the video, Lisa appeared as a guest and had a candid conversation with Big Bang’s Daesung.

Last year, Lisa founded her own one-person agency, LLOUD. When Daesung asked, "As a CEO, you must have those moments where unexpected expenses pile up right? Have you thought, ‘Oh, I didn't realize the company had to pay for this too'?" Lisa responded, "The cost of music videos... it’s seriously no joke."

Daesung commented, "For us (Big Bang) and BLACKPINK had massive-scale productions for their music videos at YG. So we got used to that style. Your music follows that style too. I heard that for 'Rockstar,' you even rented out a street for filming. Is that true?" Lisa clarified, "No, no (we didn’t rent it.) We actually went at 3:30 AM. It was just after the rain stopped. The timing was perfect. The reflections on the wet ground looked great, and since there were no people around, the video turned out really well."

She also explained, "The director creates the storyline for the music video, and if there’s anything I want to add, I make requests." When Daesung jokingly asked, "Do you ever try to negotiate and say, ‘Let’s settle at this amount’?" Lisa laughed and replied, "Ask for a discount? Oh, I always do that!" showing her down-to-earth personality.

However, she admitted, "But the costs always end up going over. It’s inevitable because we have to meet expectations."

Meanwhile, Lisa released her first full-length album, 'Alter Ego,' today (the 28th). She is also set to perform at the Academy Awards celebration in March and take the stage solo at Coachella in April.
